Application was made to erect a hut by the Ski Club of
Victoria, and they had all the materials ready for its construction.
The application was rejected, so the material was left.
Cecil Dobson and Alfred Robins applied for a hut to be
built at this location as a refuge hut. The application was approved on
the condition that there were trustees appointed to care take the
hut.
They transported the 'pile' of material that had been left by
the Ski Club of Victoria to the site on their backs, including the
bath. The hut had a 'donkey' hot water system and was feed by a piped
line, providing fresh running water
